Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Unilah Sdn. Bhd. ("Honey Lemon", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Honey Lemon app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & your account

• You must be 16 or older, and provide accurate information about yourself.
• You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to the Google or Apple account you sign in with secure.
• One account per person. You may not impersonate anyone or create an account for someone else.
• Student/graduate verification is optional but, where offered, must use your own genuine details and documents.
• Emails from us. By creating an account you agree we may send you (a) service messages — verification, security and account notices — and (b) occasional marketing emails about new features, campus events and promotions. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time in Settings → Privacy → “Product updates & offers” or via the unsubscribe link in any such email; opting out does not affect essential service messages.

2. Community rules — what you agree not to do

To keep Honey Lemon safe, you agree that you will not:

• Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or abuse any person.
• Post or send content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, violent, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes others' rights.
• Solicit money, run scams, spam, advertise, or engage in commercial or "sugar"/escort/prostitution activity.
• Use the Service if you are under 16, or misrepresent your age, identity, photos, or student status.
• Share other people's private information, or screenshots/recordings of private chats, without consent.
• Attempt to hack, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or circumvent security or access controls of the Service.
• Use bots, or create fake or automated accounts.

Violating these rules may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent termination of your account, and where appropriate, reporting to authorities.

3. Content you share

You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing your profile to other users). You are responsible for the content you share and confirm you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

4. Safety

Honey Lemon helps students meet, but we do not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, conduct, or intentions of any user, including verified users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with others. Take sensible precautions: meet in public, tell a friend, don't send money to people you haven't met, and use the in-app report and block tools. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

5. Subscriptions & payments ("Scholars")

• Premium features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billed to your store account.
• Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not in the app.
• Except where required by law or the applicable store's policies, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their terms.
• Promotional credits (e.g. free-day promo codes) have no cash value and may be changed or withdrawn.

6. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or for prolonged inactivity. Some provisions (for example, content licence for content already shared with others, liability limits, and dispute terms) survive termination.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that you will find a match or any particular outcome.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Honey Lemon and Unilah Sdn. Bhd. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from your interactions with other users. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update, add, or remove features, and we may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms here with a new date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
